Hospital Bill Questions How and where can I pay my bill? Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare accepts the following payment options: Check or money order. Please make check or money order payable to the hospital where the service was received, and include your account number on your check. - Credit cards: MasterCard, VISA or Discover.
- Debit cards with the MasterCard or VISA logos.
- Cash, in person only. Please do not mail cash.

The cashiers can assist you with any Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare bill. Cashiers are located at: - Covenant Medical Center, next to the visitor’s reception desk.

- Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters, in the Admissions/Registration area.

What if I get more than one bill? You may receive more than one bill for the same hospital stay. These additional bills are for the professional services provided by physicians, anesthesiologists, radiologists or others. If you have questions about a specific bill, please call the phone number listed on that bill. Who can I talk to with questions about my bill? Billing representatives are available to help you with any questions or concerns you may have about your bill. You may also visit one of our cashier locations listed above. How can I get a copy of my bill? Please contact the Billing Office at (319) 272-1552 or (800) 728-0159 or e-mail Cheryl.McGourty@wfhc.org to request a copy of your itemized bill. If you are leaving a message please include the patient account number from your statement.
What if I am having trouble paying my medical bills? Please contact our Financial Advocates at 800-728-0159. They can help you set up a payment plan and/or apply for assistance, including our Community Care program. Our Community Care program provides financial assistance with Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare medical bills, both the hospitals and Covenant Clinic providers, based on income and family size. Why do I receive two bills when I see a Covenant Clinic physician? Medicare patients seen by a Covenant Clinic physician are billed under Hospital-Based Physician status. This means that Medicare patients are billed in two parts - a physician fee billed by Covenant Clinic and an outpatient facility services fee billed by Covenant Medical Center.
