Weather Notice:

In the event of hazardous conditions due to winter weather, please follow wellness center cancellations on KWWL-TV Channel 7 or tune in to KKCV 98.5 FM. Wellness Services follows the Waterloo/Cedar Falls School cancellation schedule. For example, if these schools announce closings then the fitness classes will also be cancelled. In the event schools are delayed until 10 a.m. then all fitness classes held before 9 a.m. will be cancelled.

Weather Notice Regarding Child Care: 
If Waterloo schools are delayed, childcare will open at 9:00 am. If Waterloo schools dismiss early, there will be no p.m. childcare.  If Waterloo schools cancel for the day, childcare will be closed.

Wellness Services Membership Options

Annual Membership
Individual- $28/month (electronic funds transfer) or $336/year   
Couple - $47/month (electronic funds transfer) or $564/year 
 Family - $52month (electronic funds transfer) or $624/year

A 12-month membership includes use of both Sartori and Kimball Ridge facilities, choice of unlimited fitness classes, circuit weights and cardiovascular equipment, free child care, wellness offerings including smoking cessation and stress management classes, one a free 1-hour personal training session.  Family members must in 9th grade or older to utilize the weight room.

Senior Discount
Individual  $24 per month (electronic funds transfer) - $288/year 
 Couple - $36 per month (electronic funds transfer) - $432/year 
 Snowbird *- $33/month (electronic funds transfer) - $264/year *Must be used in eight consecutive months and is available to members who leave the state during the winter months.

A 12-month membership is available to individuals 55 years of age and older. Student Membership:                                      $60 for 3 months
A student membership for high school and college students.  Membership must be paid in full at time of registration.  Valid with student identification.  Must be used in 3 consecutive months.

Drop -In Policy (Non-Members)
$8 for aerobics class and weight room.  Participants must sign a waiver.

Child Care

We recognize parents of small children face unique challenges. The Kimball Ridge Center offers on-site child care to members looking for peace of mind while exercising. Our goal is to promote healthy lifestyles for the entire family and to help you find the time to exercise. Children must be 3-months to 7-years of age to participate in the child care center. Parents must remain in the wellness center while children are in the child care center.

Medically Based Wellness Classes:
What is a medically based wellness class??
Medically based wellness classes are designed to serve persons with physical and/or mental medical conditions, optimizing client’s health and well-being in a wellness setting.  The Med-Fit program provides a continuum of care for clients following rehab and therapy services, pre-and post-surgical patients, and those individuals with a medical condition looking for greater quality of life.  All Med-Fit classes are held at the Kimball Ridge site.  Participants must complete a 30 minute consultation before beginning a class.  To schedule a consultation, or for more information, please call 319-272-1755.

What we do...
Each individual has a personal program built to meet their specific needs and goals as well as work around any restrictions they may have.  Our staff is able to measure and monitor blood sugar levels, oxygen levels, blood pressure, weight, Body Mass Index, and pain levels.  This ensures that individual programs are safe and effective.  We also offer unique educational components to individual programs.  Participants are guided through their specially designed programs and progress is charted.

Personal Training

Personal training offers a customized exercise program to individuals who want personal attention in obtaining their fitness goals. The trainers will design, implement and manage and individualized exercise program based on nutrition assessments, fitness testing, strength and cardiovascular training. The personal training staff is certified by the American College on Exercise. They have completed extensive training in exercise prescription, physiology and kinesiology. Personal training is ideal for those who don’t know where to start, have hit a fitness plateau or are recovering from an illness or injury. Whatever the reason, a personal trainer provides the individual boost and support they need. Sports Acceleration

As an athlete, you work hard.  To really train...so that it makes the most difference, you must find what areas to target for improvement and use the right drills to correct your weaknesses.  If the participant desires, our trainers will work you in coordination with your coaches to enhance your performance.  The Sports Acceleration program offers a personalized training plan based on your current athletic ability, your sport, and your needs.  This service offering is available for individuals 11 years of age and older.  For more information, contact our sports trainers at (319) 272-2313

Massage Therapy

Therapeutic massage is one of the most effective ways to relieve stress. It has numerous physical and mental benefits including deep relaxation and muscle tension relief, increased joint flexibility and a relaxed state of alertness. It is also a gentle therapy. Massage is a wonderful way to relax and increase your energy while improving circulation and mobility. A massage table specially designed for pregnant women is available at Sartori Memorial Hospital and Covenant Medical Center to accommodate pregnant women during pregnancy and postpartum.  Appointments can be scheduled at Covenant Medical Center, Wellness Services at Kimball Ridge and Sartori Memorial Hospital. Gift certificates are available. Wellness Services members receive one free 30-minute massage and $5.00 discounts on 1-hour full body massages.
